General Info

Located at 5337 Limestone Rd B, Wilmington, DE 19808, United States, Cafe Pomodoro has built a reputation as a relaxed Italian restaurant where comfort food and consistency take center stage. From the moment you step inside, the space feels welcoming and unpretentious, making it just as suitable for solo dining as it is for a casual meal with friends or family. The overall vibe reflects a neighborhood spot that values good food over fuss, and that authenticity comes through clearly on the menu.

Italian classics are the backbone here, and the Lasagna is a standout that keeps regulars coming back. It’s hearty, layered generously, and delivers the kind of rich flavor people expect from a traditional Italian kitchen. Alongside it, the Garlic Knots are a popular choice, often ordered as a quick bite or to share at the table. Soft, warm, and satisfying, they fit naturally into the comfort-food experience the restaurant offers.

The menu also highlights dishes that feel a bit more rooted in regional Italian cooking. Sicilian Broccoli Rabe brings a bold, slightly bitter contrast that balances well with richer items, while the Crispino Grandma Pizza offers a square-cut, old-school style that feels familiar yet special. For those looking for something filling and easy to enjoy, the large Italian Stromboli is another reliable favorite, especially for diners who want a complete meal without overthinking the order.

Cafe Pomodoro works well for dine-in service, whether you’re settling in for a relaxed lunch or stopping by for dinner after a long day. The pace is comfortable, and the setting encourages you to enjoy your meal without feeling rushed. Dessert options round out the experience nicely, making it easy to end on a sweet note without leaving your seat.

As an Italian restaurant in this part of Wilmington, Cafe Pomodoro fits neatly into the local dining scene. Reviews often highlight the straightforward approach, the consistency of the food, and the approachable atmosphere. For anyone exploring nearby locations and looking for a dependable place where the menu delivers familiar flavors done well, this spot continues to hold its own as a trusted neighborhood favorite.

What customers say?

“ Another great meal at Cafe Pomodoro! Had the Chicken Cacciatore which is so good with their marinara sauce with peppers and onions. The portion size is huge and always have enough for a meal the next day! Love their homemade bread and small salad. Service is great with Sasha as server and Carlo manning the phones and counter. Prices are very reasonable given the portion sizes and high quality. ”

“ We had exceptional service for dinner over the weekend. Every staff member we came in contact with was so friendly and the food was delicious. They really went above and beyond. Highly recommend! ”

“ Different Cheesesteak #1222. I was looking for a different place but glad I found Cafe Pomodoro. Nice clean place. Friendly people work here. They have adult beverages. I got the garlic bread cheesesteak. I asked if they would put Marinara on it. They did. It came with chips. $13. You know I love that. Good little stop. ”

“ Shared dinner with our sister while visiting her for a few days in Delaware and stopped in at Cafe Pomodoro. Decent food and good service. For an appetizer we tried the Mozzarella Sticks, very good with a nice marinara sauce. I ordered the Baked Penne, and enjoyed my dish. Just the right mix of pasta, sauce and cheese My partner ordered the Ravioli Della Nonna, which he loved and finished. Our sister ordered the Gnocchi Al Pomodoro E Basilico, which she loved, but did say the dish had a bit too much sauce. Great service and decent food. ”

“ Great experience for lunch and dinner! This awesome little Italian restaurant/pizzeria is tucked away in the corner of the Shops at Limestone Hills. Tried a slice of pizza and the chicken soup. Pizza was NY style, which I love, and the soup was definitely homemade. The owner is from Sicily, so everything is the real deal. Lunch was so good, I went back for dinner the following night and tried the Zuppa Di Pesce. Super fresh seafood with a generous portion. I'd order it again in a minute. Just impressive all around. Cannoli was awesome too! Service was friendly and attentive, which has been difficult to find these days. This is a welcomed addition to Pike Creek, and I'll be stopping in whenever I'm in the area. ”

“ Wonderful meal here! First time in and very impressed, clean, warm & welcoming environment. Friendly staff went above & beyond to make sure we were happy. Don’t know if I would have made my cardiologist proud with my choice of the cheese steak salad, but I would order it again… delicious! Will definitely return soon! ”
